I loved staying at Browns Holbeck. If you want peace and quiet in a lovely setting this is it! Received a really warm welcome from Joan, the owner. My room (Garden Room 2) was delightful and equipped with everything - generous hospitality tray, fresh flowers, high quality toiletries, dressing gowns, fluffy towels, torch, umbrella - even a hot water bottle (most gratefully used as I had standing around in a very cold space on a course all day!) - and more, just too many to list.Breakfast choice was fabulous and served in the lovely dining room with beautiful cutlery and china wear (it is the little things that really make a difference to me).I will definitely be back to stay again.

Stayed at Browns for the Welbeck Winter Weekend, to which was half a mile away. Joan was a perfect host and communicated well before our stay. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, breakfast was superb with all local ingredients being used. Will look forward to visiting again when the garden is in full bloom along with the wildlife. Highly recommend a visit and can see why this is an award winning B&B. Thank you Joan.

A very comfortable 3-night stay at Browns Holbeck. Joan is an excellent host and her local knowledge was invaluable. A great choice for breakfast with high quality ingredients.

My room was incredibly comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was locally sourced and delicious. I was greatly impressed with both the kindness and professionalism of my hostess. She not only helped me to find a place to get food (as there are no eating establishments in reasonable walking distance at night from the hotel) but she also conveyed me to my vocational course that I had undertaken for that day.

So nice to find somewhere with a level of service and attention to detail that just feels right. I could not have found a better place for my overnight stay. It would seem nothing is too much trouble, from ensuring you get a table at a nice local gastro pub for dinner to the amazing choices for breakfast. Book early.

We had a wonderful stay at Browns Holbeck following a day exploring the Welbeck estate including a visit to the Harley Gallery, the farm shop and a tour of the Welbeck Abbey Brewery. Joan was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area and we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented - the service and overall breakfast experience was a real treat. The location is perfect for exploring all the area has to offer. The next day we made the most of the nearby public footpath and joined the Robin Hood Way which took us to Creswell Craggs within 20 minutes, (which which was definitely worth a visit). We will definitely return to Browns Holbeck next time we need to escape city life. We were transported to an idyllic and beautifully rural setting only 40 minutes away from home. Would recommend to all!

We stayed at Browns at Holbeck on 23rd January for one night for my birthday – what a wonderful place in a beautiful setting. As we arrived, we were met by our smiling host Joan Brown and nothing was too much trouble for her. Joan gave us a lovely welcome on a cold wintry day and showed us to our warm, very comfortable and bright Garden Room No 2. Very well equipped with everything we could possibly need including our own bathrobes and tea and coffee etc. the en-suite bathroom was luxurious and well-lit with lots toiletries and lovely towels to use. We looked forward to breakfast after seeing the menu and talking this through with our host and we were not disappointed. I appreciated the fresh flowers, fresh fruit and so much choice. Our breakfast was beautifully presented, my poached eggs were exactly right and my husband really enjoyed the local produce for his full English Breakfast. Joan also showed us places of interest and where we could visit in the vicinity. As we left the pheasants were on the lawn and the birds were singing, we shall definitely return I cannot wait to see the garden in early summer.

I stayed at Brown's Holbeck on Thursday 10th October 2016. Joan ensured I was settled in the room, fully explaining everything I needed to know for my stay. I was booked in room number 2, deluxe super king and it was so comfortable, like home from home. The breakfast was wonderful, organic and local produce made such a difference to the taste. The grounds are picturesque and I really cannot fault anything. I like walking and there are many walks that can be done from here so I intend to return for a long weekend in the spring. I have stayed in lots of hotels and B&B’s and you will not find many Bed and Breakfasts as good as this. Thank you Joan, this is perfect for me.

This accommodation was ideal- situated amongst beautiful gardens, alongside a pond, patio and plenty of wildlife! The b &b owners were friendly and made me and my partner feel most welcome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking to relax and take in the countryside. It is outside of Nottingham (approx. 25 miles away) however, it is close to a lovely garden centre and café/restaurant. Overall, this was a wonderful stay :-)

This was a last minute booking and I am pleased to say what a great choice Browns was! We had a fantastic overnight stay, the room was exactly as described (we stayed in Garden Room 2, Superior King room). Joan and Robin greeted us warmly and Robin showed us to the room. Joan then helped us find a restaurant locally and was very informative about the local dining as it was late on a Sunday evening and being Bank Holiday Monday the following day she knew where would still be open and serving food. Breakfast was an absolute treat, we both opted for The Old Orchard Breakfast which was not only delicious but beautifully presented.Overall I would highly recommend Browns and I would like to thank Joan and Robin for their fantastic hospitality.
